Garbage Disposal Repair in Temecula & Murrieta

Fast repair and replacement for jammed, leaking, or non-functional garbage disposals.

Garbage Disposal Repair Services We Provide

A jammed or leaking garbage disposal makes your kitchen sink unusable. We repair and replace all types of disposals, from compact units to heavy-duty models, and can usually complete the job in under an hour.

Many disposal problems have simple solutions like a reset or clearing a jam, but persistent issues like leaking from the bottom or a burned-out motor mean it is time for professional service or replacement.

Common Garbage Disposal Problems We Fix

Jammed / Won't Spin

Hard objects like bones, fruit pits, or silverware can jam the flywheel. An Allen wrench inserted in the bottom can often free the impeller.

Humming But Not Working

A humming sound means the motor is receiving power but the flywheel is stuck. The motor may burn out if the jam is not cleared quickly.

Leaking from Bottom

A leak from the bottom of the disposal usually means the internal seal has failed. This typically requires a full unit replacement.

Bad Odor

Persistent smell from the disposal is caused by trapped food particles on the splash guard and grinding chamber walls that need to be cleaned.

Won't Turn On

No response when the switch is flipped usually means the reset button has tripped, the wall switch is faulty, or the motor has failed.

Slow Draining

If the sink drains slowly with the disposal running, the drain line or trap may be partially clogged with food buildup.

Garbage Disposal Repair FAQs

The humming means the motor is getting power but the flywheel is jammed. Turn off the disposal, insert a 1/4-inch Allen wrench into the hole on the bottom of the unit, and rotate back and forth to free the obstruction. Press the reset button and try again.

Most garbage disposals last 8 to 15 years depending on usage and the model. Higher horsepower units with stainless steel grinding components tend to last longer. Running cold water during and after each use helps extend the lifespan.

You can try the reset button on the bottom of the unit first. If that does not work, use a 1/4-inch Allen wrench in the bottom port to manually rotate the flywheel. Never put your hand inside the disposal. If these steps don't work, call a technician.

If the disposal is leaking from the bottom, the internal seal has failed and replacement is the only fix. A unit that frequently jams, has lost grinding power, or is over 10 years old is also a good candidate for replacement rather than ongoing repairs.
